My introduction into the industry was purely by chance, when I was offered a job at MJ Gear in 2002. After 4 years there I was head hunted by Strike Productions to assist in their quoting, logistics and operations. I could not have had been offered a better opportunity to learn all I could about this industry and experience greatness in terms of the scope of work that I was exposed to during my time with David Hossy and the awesome team I worked with. After David's exit from the industry at the end of 2009 I felt I needed to work with a SOLID team again and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with my new team!!

I started in the industry in 1999 at then known MJ Lighting, knowing very little about technical eventing but after 5 years with the group I was no longer referring to a lighting rig as "pretty".

I spent a further 2 years at AV Unlimited, then joined LP Unlimited working on notable shows such as Skouspel 2007 and 2008. It is this journey that brought me to Solid Rock where I look forward to a long relationship with Keith and the crew.

2001 Marked my introduction to the event industry in Cape Town and my nine year career has seen me relocate to Johannesburg and the Kingdom of Bahrain, managing both small and largescale corporate events; i.e. conferences, exhibitions, concerts, galas, product launches, golf days, etc.

I currently drive Solid Rock’s sales and marketing initiatives with the hopes of giving an already notable figure in technical event production a bit of a makeover, while still preserving the good old fashioned SOLID ideals it was founded on.

I must say being in the finance department gives one the opportunity to experience many different industries and from all the others this is certainly the one with the glitz and glamour!

An integral part of SRET's onsite implementation crew, Abesh graduated cum laude at the Durban Institute of Technology with a National Diploma in Performing Arts Technology.

Starting off as a normal guy working in a store, reaching for a dream, looking for an opportunity, I struck a solid rock and the rest is history.

I joined the Solid Rock group in 2002 as a technician and found myself working alongside a man with big ideas and we were soon talking about building a sister company to then Solid Rock Productions, specializing in staging and set building.

Solid Rock Staging has been operating since 2009 as a separate entity delivering quality workmanship and expertise in structural design.
